For homeowners

  • Read the profile before you hire. Reviews and completed-job counts on this platform come from real jobs. A new professional with no reviews is not necessarily a bad choice — but ask more questions.
  • Agree the scope and price in writing before work starts. The quote message is a good record; keep it.
  • Be present, or have someone you trust present, when a professional first visits your property.
  • Be cautious about large payments up front. A deposit for materials is normal; paying the full amount before any work is done is not. We do not process payments, so we cannot recover money paid off-platform.
  • Do not share bank details, card numbers or copies of ID through the platform or by message.
  • For anything structural, electrical or gas-related, ask about licensing and insurance.

For professionals

  • Confirm the details before you travel. Call or message the homeowner once you are hired.
  • Quote what you can honour. Repeated no-shows or abandoned jobs lead to suspension.
  • Trust your judgement. If a site feels unsafe or a request is outside what you are qualified to do, decline it.
  • Keep communication on record where you can, especially about changes in scope or price.

Emergencies

Punta Cana Work is not an emergency service. For a police, fire or medical emergency in the Dominican Republic, call 911. The "Emergency Help" option on this site simply flags a job as urgent so professionals see it first — it does not dispatch anyone.

Reporting a problem

If a user behaves abusively, misrepresents who they are, or asks you to move a transaction off-platform to avoid our rules, tell us. We can suspend accounts, and we keep an audit record of platform activity.

What we do and do not verify

We review every professional application by hand before approval: we check that the business is contactable and that the profile is coherent. We do not currently run criminal background checks, and we do not independently verify trade licences or insurance certificates — where a professional states they carry insurance, that is their own declaration. Ask to see documents yourself for significant work.
